Over the past six months the Garment District Alliance has been working with a group of midtown Manhattan BIDs to advocate that punitive measures be taken for repeat offenders and that an appropriate level of funding be allocated to ensure that people in need, including the mentally and emotionally ill and those with drug dependencies be given the care that they require but be disallowed from living on the streets. If we are to achieve these objectives Senator Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Member Carl E. Heastie must agree to adopt Governor Hochul’s 10-Point Plan.
This process is taking place as part of budget negotiations in Albany which will be completed by April 1st.
If you agree, please sign on to the advocacy campaign via this link. Also, please forward to all your friends and colleagues.
